D1 Radford University #3

Well, it's been awhile...  That whole covid thing really dampened the progress we were making with the product and, frankly, just like many, I went through a few bouts of depression and lost motivation.  People are still buying Head Rocks so that has helped me to snap out of it and get back in the game.  Gratitude is all I have.

The RU lacrosse team posted an impressive 19-9 win over Kutztown University Saturday in the Highlanders last home match of the season.

RU snapped a five-match losing streak with the win and improved its record to 2 -6 on the year. The win will be particularly memorable to the seniors who played their last home match. Certainly, senior midfielder Tom branch of Roanoke, had a day to remember with six goals in the lopsided Radford win.

Other seniors on the RU squad include Mike Krongaard of Charlottesville, who had three goals and three assists and Rick McKnight of Tully, New York. Branch, Krongaard and McKnight are Radford’s tri-captains.

RU's Steve Ruple burned nets for six goals and added six assists. Sophomore Brian Powers of Fairfax made his debut as a starting goalie against Kutztown and made 9 saves in route to the RU win. The Highlanders outshot the Golden Bears 46 to 30 in one of the team's best all-around performances of the year.

“We’ve battled adversity all year long” said Coach Craig Tillmann. “The guys have come together, and I think that might show in how we play the rest of the year.”
Radford travels to Saint Mary's college in Maryland this Saturday.  On April 23, the Highlanders meet Roanoke College in Salem, and the team closes out their schedule April 30 at Virginia Tech.

Sophomore attackmen Steve Ruple led the RU lacrosse team to a 19-9 victory over Kutztown University in the Highlanders final home game of the season. Ruple, a Baltimore, native, tallied, six goals and six assist.

(this was a photo used in the article, battle of the "fords" lol.  And that is me, top center, with the Radford coaching jersey!)
